The course aims to develop advanced skills and research techniques and introduces a wide range of available resources. Many are internet based, so basic computing skills will be an advantage but not essential. While the primary focus will be on research in Australia and UK the skills are largely universal and some time can be allocated if other countries are of interest. Topics covered include software programs, basic recording, BDM, Census, migration and convict records and a variety of other resources as well as charting and presentation. No student yet has finished the course without generations of new ancestors.
