Learn to communicate more effectively both verbally and in writing. This course will also cover aspects of verbal and non-verbal communication. Students will hone their listening and writing skills. Other topics covered will be - business writing; minute taking; presentation skills.
Each student completing this course will be given a Certificate of Attendance. |

How do I turn career dreams into reality? What do I actually wish I was doing? The important parts of what can you do, what you excel at and what you should not attempt. We will examine "the where am I" "where do I wish to be" and importantly "how do I get there". Each person will have the opportunity to explore their own situation and everyone will develop action plans. |

Choosing the Right Recruitment Method |

| The workshop is aimed at employers who need tips and suggestions for recruiting the best people. The workshop will give some basic principles in how to conduct an effective interview and what are other hiring options besides interviews. Topics covered will be screening large quantities of candidates, open/closed interview questions (when to use open verses closed) and benefits of behavioural interviews. By the end of workshops employers should be more effecient at recruiting and have more confidence in making hiring decisions. |

Exploring Your Career Options |

Are ou about to enter the workplace but aren't sure what job you should do? Maybe you're returning to employment after and extended break, or are currently working and need a change? Regardless of which category you fit into, this course can assist you in the journey of answering the question of what jobs you may be best suited to, which one you should pursue, and what you need to do to get there.
Your facilitator has extensive experience in providing career counselling and vocational assessment to both groups and individuals. So if you're in need of assistance to work out what that next job will be, then this course is for you. |

| We will look at what a resume does for you and how to make yours one that stands out. What do people really look at when you submit a resume?Does it really make any difference how you present it? How much detail is enough and how much is too much? We will with practical examples look at the good, the bad and the very uguly and you will have the opportunity to create a winning document. |

Interview Skills -How to Impress |

| Each person approaches interviews in their own way.There is no single prescribed style but we will look at some of the less preferred ways and answer some of those questions you do not like to be asked. Those happy to participate will do some role play. Those who aren't will not be embarrassed but hopefully will be enthused when they see just how easy it really is. We will examine some failures and successes with real examples. Panel interviews will also be covered. |
