Who We are and What We Do
We are a NSW Government supported organisation, responsible to the Minister for Education through the Board of Adult & Community Education (BACE). We are incorporated with the NSW Department of Fair Training as Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College Inc, governed by a local elected Management Council. The College is committed to the support of lifelong learning and in pursuit of this aim, we provide a range of vocational and non-vocational learning experiences, based at local centres.
Accredited Courses
VETAB (the NSW Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board) has registered HKCC as an RTO (Registered Training Organisation) for specific courses. These courses, as listed on our scope of registration, are taught and assessed to the national competency standards. VETAB accredited courses will be identified by the VETAB logo.

Mutual Recognition
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College recognises the AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by an other RTOs throughout Australia.
Certificate and Statements of Attainment
Qualifications are issued for VETAB accredited courses, upon successful completion and achievement of all competency standards assessed. Certificates and Statements of Attainment are included in the course fees.
Statement of Attendance
For general or non-accredited courses a 'Statement of Attendance' is available. To qualify, a student must attend 75% of the course and an administration fee of $15 applies to this service.
Enrolment Eligibility
Students must be 16 years or older, to enrol in our classes. The College reserves the right to refuse admittance to any student displaying rude, abusive or disruptive behaviour. Please note: HKCC is an adult and community education organisation. It is against college policy to bring children under the age of 16 into a class.
Concessions Policy
Refer to course description for concession price.
Students presenting evidence, at the time of enrolment, in the way of either a valid:
•Seniors card
•Pension card
•Health Care card
Conditions:
•Not available on Accredited VET, English Language or computer courses as these course fees already reflect government grant subsidies
•Students must pay the full cost of any materials or consumables noted for the class
Please note: There may be some courses advertised with 'no concessions offered'. In this case the contracted tutor has not agreed to this general policy and the concession policy will not apply.
Refunds, Transfers or Credit - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
•If the college cancels a class for any reason, a full refund will be issued and posted within 3 weeks of the class being cancelled.
•If the college receives notice of withdrawal five working days prior the advertised starting date of a course, a refund minus a $15 administration fee will be issued.
•No refunds will be issued for notice of withdrawal less than five working days prior to the advertised starting date of a course.
The College regrets it cannot accept responsibility for changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Please choose your course carefully.
Payment and Receipts
Cheques should be crossed and made payable to "Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College". Every effort will be made to post your receipt immediately upon enrolment. If you have not received your confirmation prior to your course commencing, please contact the office. Final confirmation is your responsibility.
GST
As prescribed by the ATO, courses which have an intended outcome of facilitating work or further study skills, will not attract a GST component. All courses which are for personal benefit or satisfaction will attract a GST. Contact the college if specific GST information is required.
Privacy
HKCC collects personal information for the purposes of managing courses and providing data to State and Federal authorities only. No personal information of any HKCC student or staff will be given to unauthorised agencies.
Child Protection Act
The college complies with the Children & Young Persons (Care and Protection Act) 1998.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are available from the college office for an amount of your choice.
Grievances
Any grievances should be stated in writing, and sent to the College, marked "For the Attention of the Principal in Confidence", or through the feedback line on the college website: email feedback@hkcc.nsw.edu.au. All grievances will be attended to within 14 days of receipt of the letter or email.
Discipline of Students
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College reserves the right to refuse enrolment as permitted by law and to remove from class students who do not behave in an acceptable and appropriate manner towards staff or students, fail to respect the property of the organisation, the staff or other students, or the premises in which classes are conducted.
