Intro to Creative Writing

If you have an idea for a book, a play, a travel memoir or even a film script – then you’ll benefit from learning the basics of creative writing. During this course you’ll be shown the techniques involved in bringing your ideas to life. You’ll also be given tips on how to maintain your focus and motivation to get to a finished manuscript. Each week, there will be simple writing exercises which are designed to help cultivate and develop your ideas. All learners will have the option of completing the writing assignments to hone their craft or they can work on their own stories. During the course, learners will also be able to get feedback on their work from the instructor. No previous writing experience is required. It’s held on the first floor of St Ives Community Group Centre (double storey brick building) at the corner of Mona Vale Road & Rosedale Road. The St Ives car park entry is in Porters lane. Tea and coffee can be purchased at the premises.
