Guringai Aboriginal Half Day Workshops

Laurie Bimson is a proud Aboriginal man from Guringai country. His people are salt water people and have been custodians of Gurigai country for about 40,000 years. Join Laurie as he talks about the wars of his people, how his ancestors taught them as kids and the general history of his people before and after white settlement. He will also cover the meaning behind smoke ceremonies, how he lived off the land in our shire, how traditional tools are used and the importance of telling stories through music, art and dance. The day is free and open to all students. It will be an exciting day with traditional didgeridoo demonstrations, lots of history and some more fun surprises! Afternoon tea is also provided. Come along and join the fun.
