Print Making

This class explores how to experiment, develop and implement various print making
techniques for creating the unexpected, playful and creative artistic effects – whilst
enjoying the creative process and delighting in the making and exploring of new art and
methods. Principles and Elements of design will be investigated. Suitable for people of
all skill levels. Requirements list will be provided at the time of enrolling. Equipment will
be provided. Paper and inks can be purchased from the tutor for approx. $20
Jemma is a Sydney based practising artist working across a variety of mediums from
printmaking, drawing and painting through to collage. Her approach to printmaking
is not orthodox, but an approach liberated by the use of extended techniques and a
freestyle experimental way of employing techniques and materials. Her works attempt
to transcend the boundaries normally put in place by traditional printmaking processes.
Please do not purchase materials until class is definitley going ahead.

  • An Eraser
  • Water colour or inks if possible
  • Drawing pads and paper
  • Pens
  • Brushes
  • Scissors and Stanley knife
  • Clear sheets of acetate
  • Apron
  • Plastic gloves
  • Pallete knives
  • Wax Paper (cooking paper)
  • Silk Cut Lino (can be purchased from Tutor or any art supply store)
  • Asian Papers (can be purchased from the Tutor – 1m x 1m approx. $5 - $8)
  • Water Soluble soy based AKUA inks (can be purchased from the Tutor)
