Kayaking Technique Workshop

Get things right from the start. - learn correct stroke technique, how to maintain energy levels and reduce muscle soreness on longer day paddles. Plus steering and correct posture (so your lower back is protected), how to get in and out of your boat with safety and self-rescue will be demonstrated. We’ll also talk about the gear you need. Both group and one-on-one training. All age groups catered for. Conducted by fully qualified instructors Adrian/Tony at Narrabeen Lagoon. Includes boat hire. 9am – 12pm. Grade Easy.

About the Tutor

Tony Carr has been kayaking Sydney’s waterways for 25 years and knows all the great spots. Tony is a recipient of the Prudence Tucker Award from National Parks Association of NSW for his work in encouraging people to explore these glorious spots. When he isn’t running recreational tours , he is indulging in his favourite sport – kayak racing – and in October 2014 completed his 5th Hawkesbury Classic, a gruelling 111km overnight race from Windsor to Brooklyn. He has purchased a new fleet of Barracuda AR Duo kayaks which will be transported to the venues by trailer and collected again afterwards. All you have to do is sign up and then turn up and have fun!
