Get ready for Hornsby's ExpressYourAbility Art Exhibition

In collaboration with Hornsby Council, Uniting and Studio Artes, Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Community College (HKCC) is offering this training to local artists living with disability, wishing to exhibit and sell their artwork at this year's ExpressYourAbility Art Exhibition in December. The short course will also help participants build skills to make a career out of their artistic talent. Participants can choose to enrol in the entire short course, or in individual units:

  • Setting career and learning goals. (FSKLRG003)
  • Improving their writing skills, with focus on writing artwork and personal profiles. (FSKWTG009)
  • Improving their numeracy skills, with focus on money skills, setting prices for their artwork and handling money during the exhibition and any other sales situations. (FSKNUM008)
  • Improve their digital literacy, with focus on setting up an online platform, such as Etsy, to promote and sell their artwork, to communicate with potential customers and to write content for their business. (FSKDIG003)
  • Improve their oral communication skills, with focus on communicating with customers. (FSKOCM007)
  • Reflect on the art exhibition and other sales situations. Set a plan for future learning. (FSKLRG010)

Students wishing to complete assessments in the above units of competency will receive a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.

Fees

  • Use digital technology for non-routine workplace tasks (FSKDIG003)
  • Use whole numbers and simple fractions, decimals and percentages for work (FSKNUM008)
  • Write routine workplace texts (FSKWTG009)
  • Interact effectively with others at work (FSKOCM007)
