Future Planning

Planning for the Future if you have a family member with a disability

Join us for a FREE 1.5-hour event designed to inform and support individuals with a family member with a disability. This event will be held both live and virtually, making it accessible to everyone.

Our expert speakers will cover essential topics such as Special Disability Trusts, Microboards, housing and legal considerations for families and carers. These discussions will provide valuable insights into how to secure financial stability and ensure ongoing care and support.

Speakers:

Stephen Booth is a Consultant to Coleman Greig, focusing on Estate Planning. He has a particular interest in assisting families who have loved ones with intellectual disabilities or mental illness to ensure they have appropriate plans in place for the future.

Speaker from Microboards Australia - learn how this approach provides support for a person with a disability. www.microboards.org.au

Lisa Strudwick, Community Engagement Manager, CatholicCare will talk about how to apply for NDIS funded accommodation in a 'Supported Independent Living' (SIL) home.

Whether you are planning for the immediate future or long-term care, this event will equip you with the tools and information needed to navigate the complexities of care in the future and what to think about. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from industry experts and connect with others facing similar challenges.

We are proudly delivering projects for the Peer Support and Capacity Building (PSCB) grant for the NDIS.

There is no cost to enrol and this will be held at the Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Community College. Space is limited with the first 20 responses able to attend in person, but a link will be sent out for anyone else to watch the events virtually and ask questions.

Prior to the event we will send out information with a Zoom link for those who are unable to attend in person.
