How to Service and Maintain Your Sewing Machine
New to HKCC!
Learn how to service and maintain your sewing machine at home. It’s a great skill to learn that not only saves you money but will extend the life of your machine, ensuring that it continues to run smoothly avoiding the hassle of unexpected breakdowns.
This workshop is aimed at sewing machines that are already in good working order that only need preventative maintenance, adjustments, oiling and cleaning out.
Only manual and non computerised sewing machines are addressed in this workshop.

What you will need to bring:
Your sewing machine’s manual or download from internet
Flat head screw driver (that your machine came with)
Sewing machine oil
A couple of different sizes of eyeshadow makeup brushes (to clean lint from inside the machine)
Cotton ear buds
Microfibre cloth ( any type)
NEW/unused size 10 universal sewing machine needle
Piece of medium weight cotton fabric (scraps are ideal for stitch quality testing)
Sewing thread
Bobbin
Tissues/toilet roll
Few sheets of A4 paper and pen
