Moments in Focus
Moments in Focus - Mindful Photography Walks is an eight-week journey that invites participants to slow down, tune into the present moment, and explore the world around them through the lens of a camera — even a mobile phone camera. This practice encourages deep observation and intentionality, helping participants to notice the small details, textures, and patterns that often go unseen in everyday life.
Each week, we’ll explore a new theme designed to spark creativity and mindfulness, guiding our walks through local environments with gentle prompts and shared reflections. The focus isn’t on technical skill or perfect shots — it’s about being fully present, connecting with nature, and expressing personal perspectives through photography.
As we walk, we’ll also build connections with one another, creating a supportive space for conversation, creativity, and calm. By the end of the program, we’ll curate a collective display of our work, celebrating the diverse ways we’ve seen and experienced the world.
This program is ideal for anyone looking to improve mental wellbeing, focus on mindfulness, foster creativity, and reconnect with the beauty of the everyday. All skill levels and abilities are welcome.
Aimed at community members living with anxiety, depression, learning disabilities and intellectual or mental health challenges. Due to potentially uneven terrain, please discuss with our Peer Support Coordinator should you have mobility challenges.
Please be aware we intend to run this program no matter the weather - you can find beautiful reflections in puddles! If the weather is stormy or concerning, we will send you a text message to cancel.

Led by Barb Clarke: HOME | Clarkey's Magical Clicks Photography
Hi, I’m Barb – a Brit living in Australia, blending my passions for photography, mindfulness, and care.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the one behind the camera at family gatherings, capturing moments that matter. What began as a personal hobby has grown into a professional journey in lifestyle photography, where I help others preserve their memories through authentic, heartfelt images.
Alongside photography, I’m also a registered nurse. My experience in healthcare, particularly working with patients undergoing treatment for cancer, inspired me to create Mindful Photography Walks—a gentle, therapeutic practice that combines the healing power of nature, creativity, and presence. Witnessing the emotional and psychological benefits these walks brought to my patients was a turning point. I realised how photography could be more than just visual—it could be a mindful, grounding experience.
Now, I not only take photographs, but also lead mindful photography walks, with a focus on slowing down, seeing differently, and connecting with the moment. Whether you're picking up a camera for the first time or interested in using your mobile camera with greater skill and meaning, or looking to deepen your creative practice, I aim to make photography accessible, meaningful, and restorative.
I believe in the power of storytelling, compassion, and creativity—and I’m passionate about sharing that with others.
