In this relaxed fun class you will be inspired to create your own unique pieces, all from a bag of clay. The basic skills of handbuilding pinch, coil and slab techniques will be taught and you will make functional ware, sculptural ware and anything in between. To finish your pieces you will learn a variety of glaze techniques using commercially prepared glazes. By the end of the term you will take home your creations that you will enjoy for many years to come. All levels catered for.

Additional material cost of $30 to be paid to your tutor please – this covers Clay, Glazes and firing for Term 3.

What to bring:

• Pottery tools
you can purchase a cheap set of tools from a $2 dollar store or Art shop – these come in a pack with sponge, wire, wooden tools, and metal pin tool or alternatively you can find things to suit around your home including knife, fork, skewers etc.

• Glazing tools
Hogs bristle brushes various sizes or hake brushes can be purchased from $2 dollar stores or art shops.

• An apron
• Glad wrap
• plastic bag(s)
• Bucket to carry home tools – which will need to be cleaned off site.
• Container for water (recycled yoghurt container)
• small, lidded container to hold slurry
• Newspaper
